LEGO, CUUSOO, and the Brand Standard...

I call BS... on this whole review by LEGO and CUUSOO:

Politics and political symbols
- The rebel and imperial symbols represent two political factions. Pirate flags are political symbols. The different houses in Harry Potter(HP) represent "An ideology is a set of ideas that constitutes one's goals, expectations, and actions" which is the definition of political views.

Religious references including symbols, buildings, or people
- Jedi is a recognized religion, piracy is also a recognized religion. Let's not forget Christianity is mentioned in PoC.

Sex, drugs, or smoking
- Drugs and smoking are all over the place in the Pirates of the Caribbean(PoC). Not to mention the sexuality in HP during that whole awkward to watch horcrux seen. Now, who here forgets about our favorite leading lady in a bikini. Is this not sexualizing (http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-LOOSE-Figure-Slave-Light/dp/B001B6G2QS) enough for you?

Alcohol in any present day situation
- Firefly is not set in the present day. Also, I might add, this is to rule out Shaun of the Dead. I call BS... have you seen the friends sets. That's not what you think it is? (http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=3931-1) Oh, wait that's a martini. Wait, wait, wait it get's better... (http://peeron.com/inv/parts/33011b) yup that's a wine bottle make no mistake people. Alcohol and to reenforce it to women no less. Very interesting.

Swearing
- PoC has swearing, also I might at there are papers on the dialog in Star Wars and what in the language of that "world" would be considered swearing. Again, added to rule out Shaun of the Dead. Are you going to tell me that swearing wasn't prevalent and part of this time era (http://brickset.com/browse/themes/?theme=Western)?

Death, killing, blood, terrorism, or torture
- "Many Bothans Died to Bring Us This Information". I for one will never forget Alderaan where "millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced". How many people are stabbed or shot in PoC. Let's not forget the people that are killed off in HP and certain spells are considered torture.

First-person shooter video games
- Firefly and Shaun of the Dead don't even fall in the category.... but you know what does... SW and HP. Minecraft interesting enough does actually fall into this category.

Warfare or war vehicles in any situation post-WWII to present
- Firefly is set in the future. Shaun of the Dead I will give them that end scene... one but, nope wait a minute. IJ has this (http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Indiana-Jones-Fighter-Attack/dp/B001URW80W/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_8) nice war vehicles. Wait it says "warfare or" well that rules our PoC, HP, and SW Clone Wars.

Racism, bullying, or cruelty to real life animals
- Imprison a creature... never. (http://brickset.com/detail/?set=6076-1) Also, what do you think is going to happen to this bear? (http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=4438-1) Nothing good I tell you. Nothing at all. This doesn't apply to Firefly or Shaun of the Dead.

You want the real irony of all of this. ALL of the above can be done or seen in the LEGO video games. Yup. ALL OF THE ABOVE!

Bottom line. It's about what we think will make us money and what will not! Screw the people who work hard on ideas and do the work to get the needed votes. We are going to add or bend the rules to our corporate needs (read as greed). I for one an ashamed of cuusoo for not standing up to them on this. LEGO should be ashamed as well. Have you really corporatized a family business that much that there is one ring for you and different ones to rule everyone else and in the dark ages bind us.

Yes, most of the above also applies to LotR. Well at the very least drinking, smoking, political views, cruelty to real life animals, and warfare just to get started.
